The growth of the Internet, mobile gaming and entertainment options and consumer demand for 'time' to push their access to television. This is the least understood by the TV networks and directors due to fear. People are just not interested in a TV show, they were on the original television series. But they were turned away and hundreds of transactions made online only.
These often lack the polish and production values of the TV set, but I guess people do not seem to mind. The story and characters are just as interesting and significant time commitment is usually short
Nonetheless. Consumers should be a well allocated to the most appropriate time. And reap the benefits as much as possible. The internet has both good and bad. Therefore, it is very important to use them correctly.
